What does the future bring to society with the transformation of the energy sector to more renewable and decentralized energy? What’s the role of the prosumers, utilities and public administrations? How can the various energy sources and vectors be coupled optimally? Can technology parks organize themselves as energy communities to facilitate energy transition?
The topic of the energy transition touches upon many aspects of society. In this workshop hosted by the Walqa technology park, the topic will be discussed from the angles of multi-energy systems, energy communities and business models. Walqa technology park is a pilot site in the H2020 E-LAND project that develops a toolbox to facilitate local energy islands to leverage multi-energy systems from technological and business perspectives while at the same time building strong support from local communities. By focusing on local energy islands E-LAND links the potential of digitalization to the coupling of different energy sectors.
Key results from the project experience will be shown together with a site visit. Other technology parks are invited to the workshop to share their experience in of transitioning towards a sustainable energy system. Participants of the workshop will have the opportunity to experiment with the E-LAND toolbox, to get a sense of how it will affect their technology park.
